Kyrenia
THE BEACH
The Beach is only a 5 minute drive from Lavinia House. There are plenty of beautiful beach spots to choose from along the coastal road, including turtle bay, which is a protected beach to allow the turtles to safely lay their eggs. The secluded beaches have little more than a car park built. You could easily imagine your on an undiscovered desert island.
THE FOOD
There are so many great bars and restaurants, you'll want to return to Northern Cyprus just to try the ones you missed out on. I've never tasted so much great food from one holiday, it's one of the many reasons we returned after our first visit.
THE SIGHTS
There are lots of traditional shops to visit as well as a large authentic market to pick up some local produce.
The harbour is full of bars and restaurants, but if you've already eaten, take a strole along the harbour path or visit Kyrenia castle.
At the other end of the coastal road you'll find Buffavento castle. It's one of the highest castles in Northern Cyprus, so the road there will only take you half way. The rest of the way is by foot, and it's quite a walk. The views when you get to the top are unlike any other and make it well worth the effort.
There is a beautiful ranch at the bottom of the mountain which is traditionally decorated and has incredible views over the valley.
THE GOLF
Korineum Golf & Country Club has been the Med’s natural golf paradise since the Grand Opening in April 2007. The 18 hole championship golf course is a dynamic 6,232 metres, 72 par gem designed for golfers of all standards and ages. The unique design enables the golfers to enjoy mountain and seas view from each hole making it a breathtaking experience and also a golfing challenge that golfers want to experience over and over again. The paspallum playing surface is maintained in excellent condition all year round and with strategically placed bunkers and water hazards where the player faces a true challenge. Five tees at each hole gives players of all abilities the oppurtunity to enjoy their round. Take advantage of the buggy hire as some of the holes are designed around hilltops, this will not only allow the play to be more relaxing but also gives the players a chance to absorb the stunning natural beauty of the surrounding area.
